Three 6 Mafia is right. It really is hard out here for a (post) pimp. There are so many brilliant bloggers out there. It’s hard to choose which posts I really liked. If I listed them all, this post would be neverending.

Anyway, this has been the week from hell, and I’m spent. Please enjoy some really awesome posts I’ve read lately. In no particular order:

• What’s Shakin’?
  My favorite Beagles weigh in on the East Coast earthquake. Buddy, the Independent/Swing Vote, is the rational one. Quelle surprise.
• The French, Rabid Children, and Psychic Bellmen!
  Tip the bellmen well, people. This particular rant on some of the worst hotel guests induced both serious laughter and serious pity.
• Do you want to Primary Obama?
  I don’t agree with one of my favorite Progressives. The mere question scares the crap out of me, but she shares compelling reasons why we should.
• Sensible Shoes, a Nice Blouse and One 2 x 4 Piece of Pretreated Lumber
  I love my heels, but this was hilarious. Toe cleavage bugs the crap out of me too.
• Once Again, Nancy Pelosi Saves The Day
  He gives another reason why I love Nancy Pelosi. Obama needs to take a lesson. And borrow her balls.
• Poverty Among Elderly Americans
  If his first-hand accounts of senior citizens living this way don’t compel you to think about how we treat them, nothing will.
• On Conservative Cannibalism
  Are you a real Conservative? He brilliantly answers why that question sucks.
• Shrewish, Not Jewish
  She takes movie posters, DVD covers, etc. and superimposes politicians’ faces on them. So funny I nearly choked on my tea.
• The Republican Job Creation Plan
  If we are to extend tax breaks to businesses in the name of job creation, he believes it should be contingent upon actual jobs being created. Makes sense to me.
• Will That Be Cash Or Charge?
  He shows us another dimension of government sanctioned profiling. Creepy as hell.
• Irene Is No Match for My Tiny Grandma
  Her grandmother turned 100! She shares great pictures and what her grandmother has gone through as a black woman.

Weiner’s Intervention

Anthony Weiner Says He Will Take Leave of Absence, Seek ‘Treatment’ as Scandal Grows

Treatment. Weinergate has now morphed into an episode of A&E’s Intervention. Three top Democrats, including Mama Nancy herself, read their letters. “I love you. If you do not get help, I’ll have to cut you out of my life. Will you take this gift and work on your healing starting today?” He agrees grudgingly. Then he gets whisked away to Sex Addiction Ranch in some BFE town. Most of the days will probably start with group. “Hi. My name is Anthony, and I’m addicted to sex.”

Politicians deal with scandal differently. He’s taking the long route and delaying the inevitable. Just resign. And I don’t think there is a 12-step group for being a dumbass.

Speaker Boehner, Will You Stop with the Stopgaps?

House GOP Plans 3rd Stopgap Bill to avoid Shutdown

God, this sucks. Is the United States government going to avoid shutdown by Continuing Resolution yet again? How long is this going to go on like this?

This is ridiculous. Boehner has to get through to his Tea Party legislators. He is their leader, and he needs to start acting like it. He should ask Nancy how it’s done. She could get every Democrat to vote in unison against the GOP. How? She scared the living hell out of them, threatening not to back their projects. She is the pitbull in Armani.

Boehner needs to borrow her balls. Or at the very least, her bark.

Harry Reid summed it up:

Tea party Republicans, the Nevada Democrat said, “stomp their feet and call ‘compromise’ a dirty word and insist on a budget that will hurt America rather than help it.”

Whether the Tea Party Republicans like it or not, they control only one leg of a tripod. They have to come up with something both the Senate and the POTUS will sign. That is going to take compromise.

Like the three-year-olds they are impersonating, they are holding their collective breath until they get their way. Is Boehner going to give them their way? Hello shutdown, then. Is he going to stand up? They’ll be pissed, but they might actually get something accomplished.
