Hey Rick! The Ghost of JFK Said, “The Feeling’s Mutual!”

Vodpod videos no longer available.

In that clip, he said that the line that gives him the dry heaves is, “I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute.” What comes after that line in his speech?

…where no Catholic prelate would tell the president (should he be Catholic) how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote; where no church or church school is granted any public funds or political preference; and where no man is denied public office merely because his religion differs from the president who might appoint him or the people who might elect him.

That sounds perfectly reasonable and in line with the First Amendment. Does that make him want to throw up too?

This guy is not just irritating, he’s scary. What would a Santorum America look like?

  • Leaders would look to religious leaders for direction
  • Abortion would be outlawed even in the cases of rape and incest
  • Iran would be in his crosshairs from day one
  • Retirement age for Social Security would be raised
  • EPA resources would be cut

Now that is nauseating.

There were a set of “founding fathers” that supported a partnership between the protestant leading church of the the time, Episcopalian, and the government. People like Patrick henry thought that such a partnership was needed to serve as a moral guide for the new country but many of his fellow Virginians like Jefferson, Madison and even Washington opposed this view.

Henry may have been one of the great patriots of the Revolution but he was part of the crowd that opposed the government that created 3 equal branches of government with some central control vis a vis the Executive and judiciary branches. His entrenched anti-goverment tirades against the new central government in Washington stoked those separatist fires that ultimately led to the Civil war in an attempt to dissolve the union.

Let’s not forget Article VI of the Constitution. You know, the Constitution, the document that Santorum and his fellow religiofundofreaks are so fond of touting their support for.

“…; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”

And yet all these damn Republicans can talk about is how Christian they are, and each touts how much more Christian he is than the others, and that they are all far more Christian than the Muslim nigger in their White House. (And if you that that last is not the subtext of the entire Republican campaign you haven’t been paying attention for the last three years.)

I would bet that the Obama clan is jerking off at the prospect of this man as the nominee….

I heard him say this while watching the show, and did a big HUH. He’s so off the wall, I may vote for him in the upcoming Ohio Primary. The question is do I have the guts to do it.

Lets face it — Santorum is simply allergic to the constitution, and has not one clue what the word freedom (religious or otherwise) actually means.

Why is this asshole even running in the first place, when the voters in Pennsylvania voted his ass out of the Senate, because of the stupid shit he says. And he went to law school? Damn he must have missed a lot of classes…

The ironic thing is that the “country’s founders” specifically wanted for there to be no litmus test for the office of the presidency. This makes their intent crystal clear.
The separation of church and state should indeed be absolute!
