Rick Santorum Won MN, MO, and Zero Delegates

Way to win when it really counts, Rick! Drinks all around!

Out of all the GOP candidates, Rick Santorum is the one I like the least. He’s said some pretty disturbing stuff, and a few of them were recently:

Quote: “One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country…. Many of the Christian faith have said, well, that’s okay, contraception is okay. It’s not okay. It’s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be.” (Speaking with CaffeinatedThoughts.com, Oct. 18, 2011)

Birth control has been the topic “du semaine.” And Santorum is not just against making Catholic hospitals provide them, he’s against contraception. Period. 15th Century Inquisition is how Santorum rolls.

What really scares the crap out of me is his foreign policy. He’s trigger happy and Iran has been on his radar for a long time. Check out his exchange with David Gregory on Meet the Press:

SANTORUM: Iran will not get a nuclear weapon under my watch.
GREGORY: Well, two previous presidents have said that. You would order air strikes if it became clear that they were going to…
SANTORUM: Yes, that’s — that’s the plan.

Air strikes. “Come on in and make yourself comfortable, World War III.”

Aside from the scary stuff aforementioned, I really think this guy is a Class A jerk. I came to this conclusion after watching all those debates. He always has these snarky remarks and constantly interrupts his rivals. Ron Paul called him out on it, politely saying, “Please don’t interrupt me.” He was clearly irritated with him, and so was I.

That’s why I’m glad he’s not going to get the nomination. He will enjoy some more campaign money and a couple of days in the spotlight. Enjoy it while it lasts, Rick. You’ve peaked.

His foibles have been pointed out by some of the MSM but will become more pronounced as he garners a front runner status. I think once people get a good look at this guy he will only be left with the fundamentalist religious right singing his praises.

Relax. He only has a small chance of getting the nomination …. and a much smaller chance of winning the White House.

he also won Colorado……Ricky will get a closer look now….and mitt will be seen further as not the candidate to beat Obama….

I am no fan of Santorum, but please don’t underestimate the millions of conservative voters, who (sadly)thinks he’s the right guy for President. He will have a lot of momentum and not least a lot of money. This is just my two cents from Denmark.

Never mind that he’s still winning states, the fact Sanitarium is still in this thing is clear evidence to how batshit crazy the Republicans (and America as a whole) has become.

Commander Frothy is a straight up (pun intended) 3rd Tier candidate who should never have been anything than an occasionally mentioned also-ran. Yet here he is, after 7 contests, ahead of a former Speaker of The House and nipping at the heels of Saint Romney of The Caymans.

I can honestly come up with better arguments for most of his policies than he can. The rest are “ideas” that should have been relegated to the dustbin of history a century or so ago. At the very least, they have virtually no business being talked about in a Presidential campaign.

Commander Frothy’s success is so bad for so many reasons, it makes me want to cheer for Newt. Yuck.

…and in this day & age, anybody who opposes birth control should be sterilized.

      • Spinny Liberal

Oh no, Sedate Me. People can be against birth control all they want. Even though it’s been around since the dawn of time. They’re entitled to their opinion. And have every right to breed. And will probably do so because they’re opposed to it. 😉

      • Sedate Me

To clarify, I was really talking about people like Commander Frothy who oppose it as a concept rather than make a personal choice not to use it themselves. If they want to deny everyone else’s right NOT to breed, then it’s fair game to propose they lose their right TO breed.

However, this planet is vastly overpopulated already and the world would be a better place without people like Rick Sanatorium breeding like rabbits.

  • Spinny Liberal

😆 @ Saint Romney of the Caymans. Ahaha.

And Newt? 😯 At least cheer for the old Libertarian. He’s way more palatable.

    • Sedate Me

I like him prefer him to the miserable alternatives. I agree with a good deal of what he says, but it’s the stuff I don’t agree with that’s a real deal breaker. That said, it’s nice to have him around.

If it was Newt vs Commander Frothy, which it is for the title of Non-Romney candidate, I’ve got to go with the asshole over the anal lube mix, as painful as it is to say that.

Luckily, Rick doesn’t have enough money to compete with Romney and Gingrich, but I do think that he’s stirred the interest of the far right. That will help buoy his political future, and might encourage him for another run at the white house. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of this guy.
