My head was near spinning off last night. I had so many questions. Rachel Maddow did an excellent job, as usual, of explaining what went on. There is even footage of what happened moments before the vote in the chamber.

Maddow is an excellent interviewer…I use to listen to her on Air America….even if you do not like her politics she is still a good journalist….

Now, now Terry. Why muast you always take things to extreme. Should I refer to your ideological leanings including Benito Mussolini and Augusto Pinochet.
Lenin was a Bolshevik, not a progressive and Marx … well contrary to popular misconceptions he wasn’t a Marxist. Kind of like Jesus wasn’t a Christian.
Marx’s philosophy was hi-jacked by Lenin, et al. When you read him in light of the historic time period he wrote, you would probably agree with him. Religious leaders were corrupt for the most part and the aristocratic political leaders were out of touch with the citizens they ruled.
Marx was just one of many among the secular thinkers then like Hegel and Schleiermacher who sought other alternatives to the apathetic status quo of the time.
