Rachel Maddow: Anti-Choice Right Targets Doctors

This doctor shares what he goes through and faces by providing safe abortions. He was one of the doctors on the Wanted Posters that circulated in North Carolina last November. I figured this was fitting considering that today is Abortion Providers Appreciation Day. The doctor asked that his face be concealed and his voice altered. That’s why it sounds creepy.

so when will peter king have hearings on everyone who is anti-choice? i don’t think i’ll hold my breath.

It’s a shame we’re at a point in this country where we eulogize people who kill children – for a living.

    • SpinnyLiberal

Or it’s a shame people are killing doctors who are doing legal medical procedures safely.

      • Terrance H.

Safely? Gosnell anyone? Psychological harm associated with abortion – anyone? Planned Parenthood’s lies, anyone? Planned Parenthood’s attempt to cover-up child prostitution, anyone?

        Get real.

      • SpinnyLiberal

Gosnell was a monster. The majority of clinics that provide abortions are not like that hell hole. No credible evidence that abortion causes mental health problems.

      • Terrance H.

You have no way of knowing how many Gosnell-like clinics exist.

And there is PLENTY of credible evidence that abortion causes mental health problems. You’re about to open up one helluva can of worms, Spinny; I promise you that. Please, quote the politicized APA Task Force Report and watch me destroy it. And while you’re looking for that, please review the Royal Academy of Psychiatrists position statement, please review the plethora of STAKES studies, and please review the plethora of independent studies which clearly indicate that abortion is associated with an increases risk of mental illness.

I didn’t tell you everything about my background. I have firsthand knowledge of the APAs flat-out lies. Believe me.

      • SpinnyLiberal

Not gonna open the can of worms since this is your “issue.” It’s OK. If you take something like an APA report, and it goes against your “stance,” you can always find something wrong with it.

      • Terrance H.

You’re making less and less sense. The Royal College of Psychiatrists’ and STAKES’ researchers have openly accused the APA of complete and utter bias. The APA Task Force Report, which decided the entire organizations’ stance, was authored by six people, and chaired by an openly pro-choice psychologist by the name of Brenda Major. The report merely looked at several studies on the issue, tossed out one’s that didn’t conform to the view they wanted, rendering them “methodologically unsound” and that was it. Problem solved. They kept studies which conformed to their view, tossed out the rest, and boom. Abortion is suddenly, miracously, safe! Nevermind the British and Sweedish, Finnish, and Independent American studies which clearly show it is not. Forget about them.

      • SpinnyLiberal

How am I not making sense? Because I say everyone looks everything from their point of view? Like I said, it’s OK. Relax man. You can’t convince me, remember? 🙂

      • Terrance H.

Keeping your head in the sand isn’t adding anything to this discussion. If you want to honestly find out whether abortion causes psychological harm, then I’ll lay out the case and explain it to you – in great detail. But if you’re going to ignore it, because you’re a supporter of abortion-rights and you think denial is necessary in order to justify your views to yourself, then I won’t bother.

      • SpinnyLiberal

Nope, has nothing to do with denial. I was part of your movement in high school. I’ve heard that case made already. And read anecdotal “evidence.” Don’t bother because 1). I don’t have to justify my beliefs to anyone and 2). It’s not denial when it isn’t true. Again, just relax man. Like I’ve said before, it’s difficult to change people’s minds and their opinions.. But that’s on you, and your passion for the cause is evident.

      • Terrance H.

You can believe what you want to believe. But abortion is most assuredly damaging to psychological health, and I couldn’t care less what you think you know, or what the APA tells you they know. It’s all lies. Period. End of story. I have the evidence. Plan on reading a post on my blog within the next week and a half on the matter. I need one anyone, so I can link back to it every time someone denies the obvious.

You want to support the macabre act that is abortion, then fine. But do so on its merits, not on fiction.

      • SpinnyLiberal

        I support a woman’s right to choose.
